The Story Behind Pink Noise Sleep

What We Do

Pink Noise Sleep is an independent editorial project dedicated to one question: how does sound affect the way we sleep, focus, and rest? We research, write, and publish in-depth guides on colored noise — pink, brown, white, green, and beyond — translating peer-reviewed science into clear, practical information that anyone can use.

Every article on this site is grounded in published research from journals like Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Sleep Medicine, and The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. We don't make claims without evidence, and when the evidence is limited or inconclusive, we say so. Our goal is to be the most accurate and trustworthy resource on colored noise anywhere on the internet.

Why This Exists

The internet is full of noise — ironically, even on the topic of noise itself. Most content about pink noise, brown noise, and white noise is either oversimplified, poorly sourced, or written to sell a product. We saw an opportunity to build something different: a free, research-backed resource created by people who genuinely care about sleep science and sound.

We're based in Barcelona and work at the intersection of science communication, audio production, and digital publishing. Our editorial team reviews every article for accuracy, clarity, and sourcing before it goes live. You can read more about our research process on our methodology page.

The Audio Side

Good information deserves good sound to go with it. That's why Pink Noise Sleep is connected to two dedicated audio projects that we produce alongside the editorial content:

Linden Tea is our Spotify artist project — studio-crafted colored noise albums designed for sleep, focus, and relaxation. Each album is built around a specific noise color and use case, available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.

The Blackout Room is our YouTube channel, featuring 10-hour uninterrupted noise and ambient sound videos designed for full-night use. No mid-roll ads, no loops, no cuts — just continuous sound from the moment you press play until morning.

Our Principles

Everything we publish follows a few simple rules. We cite our sources and link to the original research whenever possible. We clearly distinguish between well-established findings and emerging or preliminary evidence. We never present opinion as fact. We don't accept sponsored content or paid placements that could compromise our editorial independence. And all of our written content is free to read, always.

If you have questions, corrections, or feedback, we'd genuinely like to hear from you. Reach out through our contact page — we read every message.
